  • 4 funds

    CDAC, ECF, MBMF and SINDA

  • Deducted

    from the employee’s wages

  • With CPF

can be paid together to CPF Board

Who contributes to which fund

The self-help group (SHG) funds are separate from CPF savings. The money goes to the community group, not to the employee’s CPF accounts. You are expected to deduct it from wages.

The four funds
FundWho contributes
CDACChinese employees who are citizens or PRs
ECFEurasian employees who are citizens or PRs
MBMFMuslim employees who are citizens, PRs or foreign employees
SINDAEmployees of Indian descent who are citizens, PRs or Employment Pass holders

MBMF is based on religion. The other three are based on the race shown on the employee’s NRIC. If the NRIC lists two races, the first one decides.

How it is deducted and paid

  • Deduct it from the employee’s wages, on top of their CPF share.
  • Pay it to CPF Board together with your CPF contributions. You do not need to pay each group separately.
  • Opt-outs and changes go through the group. An employee who does not want to contribute, or wants to give a different amount, contacts the relevant SHG.
  • Mistakes, such as an overpayment or a payment to the wrong group, are sorted out directly with that group.

Using it in Wageclerk

  • Choose a fund on the employee’s profile. Wageclerk only offers the funds that fit their residency.
  • The amount comes from the tables above, using the month’s total wages, and is shown on the review page.
  • If someone has asked to opt out, set their fund to none.
